It won the Railway Heritage Trust award for 2004 and The Birmingham Civic Society's Renaissance Award for 2005.

The Capital: The fastest journey time to London Euston is 1 hour 21 minutes, with the Virgin Trains service from New Street, with trains every 20 minutes. Chiltern Railways is currently investing £250 million in line upgrades. This investment will cut the London Marylebone to Birmingham Snow Hill journey to 100 minutes.
