Business Birmingham to showcase the city at MIPIM

Business Birmingham and the city’s business community are joining forces once more to promote Birmingham’s investment opportunities to 18,600 delegates from 90 countries at MIPIM 2012.

Birmingham is hosting an extensive events programme during each day of MIPIM, the world’s leading real estate event (Cannes, March 6-9) – highlighting world-class strengths in areas including connectivity and infrastructure, and outlining investment opportunities resulting from initiatives such as the Big City Plan and HS2.

Some 18 partners from the private and public sectors across the city will work together to showcase Birmingham’s collaborative environment, supportive business networks and the economic conditions that help to support business growth and entrepreneurship.

Mike Whitby, Leader of Birmingham City Council, commented:

Birmingham is proof of how the public and private sectors can work together to successfully regenerate a city. Major infrastructure schemes such as New Street Station’s Gateway project and the £188.8 million Library of Birmingham are transforming the city for businesses and residents alike by creating jobs and boosting the local economy. Whilst efforts to align our investment strategy with our visitor economy plans have clearly helped Birmingham to create a development pipeline of 28 hotels.
Showcasing Birmingham to thousands of international delegates, financiers, investors and developers will undoubtedly continue to grow the city’s profile as a leading business destination – and attract private sector funding to grow its pipeline of new developments even further.”
