MIPIM Partners

Business Birmingham is pleased to be joined by the following partners, who will champion the city throughout MIPIM 2012:

Principal Partners

Argent | Altitude

Argent | Altitude

Argent, in conjunction with Altitude, is currently working in partnership with Birmingham City Council on proposals for the redevelopment of eight acres at Paradise Circus - the most strategically important redevelopment opportunity in Birmingham city centre.

It is anticipated that the scheme could comprise up to 1,700,000 sq ft of commercial space in up to 12 new buildings, all set in a series of new streets and squares creating a first class working environment and a proper setting for Birmingham’s historic civic buildings.

The Paradise Circus site is at the forefront of Birmingham’s new Enterprise Zone, and the Big City Plan. It is one of the most complex development projects in the UK but is strategically vital to the economic future of Birmingham as a centre for business and professional services.

An outline planning application for the redevelopment will be made in Summer 2012 with development planned to commence in 2014.

Nikal | MIPIM 2012 partner

Nikal

An energetic and entrepreneurial force within the property industry, Nikal specialises in creating stimulating built environments in which people can realise their potential.

Nikal pursues major town and city centre redevelopment, regeneration and investment opportunities, throughout the UK. A team of passionate entrepreneurs, Nikal is recognised for its professional approach to property development and applies vision and individuality to all of its projects, seeing each through from start to completion in order to ensure complete success.

Nikal’s latest Birmingham development, Masshouse, is being delivered by Masshouse Developments Ltd, a company wholly owned by Nikal. The team is delighted to have already delivered 330 apartments across a two-phase residential scheme.

The next stage in the development of Masshouse is the development of a mixed-use site, incorporating Grade A office space, hotel accommodation and serviced apartments, all set around a stunning public realm, creating a link between the existing city core and the city’s knowledge, learning and transport hubs.

British Waterways

Icknield Port Loop

Icknield Port Loop is an opportunity to create a new Waterside Quarter in Birmingham - an exciting new area of transformation on the edge of Birmingham City Centre.

In 2009 Birmingham City Council, the Homes & Communities Agency and British Waterways established the IPL Partnership “to create by 2025, a high quality, family orientated, sustainable and mixed-use waterside neighbourhood” for the 18 hectares of land in their ownership.

The project will deliver a around 1000 new homes for families and an opportunity to bring new innovative family housing typologies into the market. This exciting new comprehensive redevelopment opportunity is being launched on the Business Birmingham stand on Wednesday 9 March.
