Deutsche Bank opened its operational processing centre at One Brindley Place in 2008
Deutsche Bank’s plans for Birmingham are part of a global strategy, which has created a series of internationally connected operating centres to support the processing needs of the Bank. Birmingham was the fourth city to be run under what is known as the DBOI Global Services operating model, a wholly owned subsidiary of Deutsche Bank.
While initially focused on the middle and back office support areas, the service centre concept is open to all aspects of the Bank’s operations.
Jason Ang is an Operations Manager with Deutsche Bank in Birmingham and has previously lived and worked in New York, Bangalore and London. He is originally from Malaysia.
I’ve worked in a number of international business cities and what strikes me about Birmingham is the really strong talent pool and overall positive business environment. Part of Deutsche Bank’s overall strategy is to develop different centres of excellence – Birmingham boasts a strong talent pool, fabulous facilities within the city, and has proximity to the financial centre in London, all making this possible. On a personal level, relocating to Birmingham (from New York) has been a very positive experience – indeed my daughter was born here! What I particularly like is the fact that everything is relatively close together. I have a reasonably priced apartment within walking distance of the office and the nightlife and cultural offering is second to none. I have never before experienced anything like the free events that the City Council often stages – they are fabulous.
