- Newman has an excellent reputation for the quality of its initial teacher education courses, receiving a grade 1, the highest possible, in its latest OFSTED inspection. Many of the courses are recognised by professional bodies such as the Chartered management institute, BASES and British Psychological Society.
- The growing research culture at Newman University College was recognised through the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2008, a national audit measuring research excellence across the UK’s university sector. The RAE results indicated that all research outputs from the University College were of national or international standards in terms of originality, significance and rigour, with some outputs being classified as internationally excellent (taken from NUC website)

Newman’s green campus is 8 miles outside Birmingham’s city centre. At its heart is a chapel, in keeping with Newman’s mission as a Catholic university college – proud to welcome people of all faiths. A £20 million investment has refurbished teaching spaces and built an all weather sports pitch, with a new library and social space to follow. Traditionally known for its Education courses, Newman also now has a strong reputation across a wide range of subjects.
