Cleantech for Acceleration programme looking for applications from start-up businesses

Innovation Birmingham’s Cleantech for Acceleration (CT4A) programme is back, offering grants of up to €20,000 to start-up businesses focussed on energy technologies and sustainability.

Following previous successful years of supporting numerous start-ups, the 2017 Accelerator programme is looking for a new batch of talent and is open to all start-ups that are less than two years old and have a product, service or innovation which is energy focussed.

The Climate-KIC grant-funded programme, which is based at Innovation Birmingham Campus’ iCentrum building, provides grants of up to €20,000 and aims to transform breakthrough innovations in energy into successful cleantech businesses.

At stage one, start-ups receive one-to-one business support with coaches to build a business model canvas and validation plan, a bespoke needs analysis, solve skill issues and design a top-quality pitch deck.

Selected business will then move on to stage two, which provides grants of up to €20,000. All companies also benefit from coaching from business experts and free co-working space on Campus.

Leigh Ingram, Climate-KIC Project Manager at Innovation Birmingham, said:

“Every year we continue to support a wide range of start-up business, with the aim of turning potential into successful products and services. Many of our start-ups go on to achieve great things and it’s a privilege to be part of their journey.

Applications close on Friday 10th March 2017. To apply, please visit to download an application form or contact [email protected].
