Co- founders of Clever Tykes children’s book series featured in the Forbes 30 under 30 list for 2017
Jodie and Ben Cook, who last week saw the distribution of their Clever Tykes series of storybooks to every primary school in the UK as part of a partnership with Lloyds Banking Group, have capped off a significant week by being featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.
Jodie, Birmingham’s Young Professional of the Year 2014, and husband Ben created and authored the series of enterprise storybooks with the aim to get young children aged six to nine to start to understand and be inspired by entrepreneurship.
Currently there are three books published and last Thursday saw the delivery of each book to UK primary schools along with the launch of a portal to support teachers and parents.
The news that the couple, whose businesses were founded and are based in Birmingham, have been named as one of the 30 under 30 in the Forbes annual list of young innovators and entrepreneurs is a significant moment for the pair.
This year’s list is made up of social entrepreneurs located from the UK to Bulgaria and from France to Switzerland.
Fellow Brummie and King Edwards VI Five Ways School Alumni, Anisa Haghdadi, founder of Beatfreaks, has also made the list, making it a double celebration for Birmingham’s young entrepreneurs.
To be selected by Forbes to make the final list of 30 comes after a series of judging criteria is analysed by the Forbes 30 under 30 judges including Forbes Magazine Editor, Randall Lane.
For Jodie and Ben inclusion in the Forbes List is recognition and an accolade of which the couple are very proud. Ben Cook said;
“We are both delighted to be among the list of 30 social entrepreneurs chosen by the judges to feature in this prestigious list.
To be side by side with so many talented innovators and businesses is a great feeling.
The culmination of our long journey to get Clever Tykes placed into schools took place on Thursday and we are looking forward to seeing the impact of the books in classrooms and through our portal and to receiving feedback from both teachers and parents.
To be named in the Forbes 30 under 30 is a great start to the year.”
