PwC strengthens its Midlands team with six senior promotions
PwC announces further investment in its senior team in the Midlands with the promotion of one partner and five directors.
Newly promoted legal partner, Mark Skedgel, is based in PwC’s Birmingham office working in the assurance practice. Having joined the Birmingham office as an audit graduate, Mark has worked providing external audit to predominantly plcs and large corporates, as well as on capital markets transactions and data assurance.
The five newly promoted directors are:
- Sarah O’Donnell, assurance director, based in Birmingham
- Jayne Harrold, tax director, based in Birmingham
- Simon Higgins, assurance director, based in Birmingham
- David Mayland, assurance director, based in Birmingham
- Christopher Ward, tax director, based in Milton Keynes

Across the UK, PwC has promoted 31 new equity partners, in addition to the 21 new equity partners recruited externally during the last 12 months. The majority of the new partners are in priority growth areas, including technology, deals and private business.
Nationally 27% of the new partners are female, and 40% of PwC’s 134 new director promotions are women, as the firm continues to invest in its pipeline of senior female leaders.

There were some 300 promotions across our three Midlands offices, effective 1 July, and we look forward to welcoming our next intake of graduates and apprentices this year, creating new routes into our profession.”
