Sale of The Bond Company to Oval Real Estate Ltd.

Urban development pioneers, Tony Collier, Tim Davis and Peter Southgate bow out after thirty years as Co-Directors of landmark business and events venue, The Bond Company, leaving a legacy of imaginative regeneration in Birmingham’s historic Digbeth.

Started from scratch in 1988, The Bond Company grew from one single site, a Victorian canal side bonded warehouse, into a unique multipurpose, character-filled flexible work and events complex accommodating an exceptional range of new and growing businesses. Despite three recessions and the financial crash, The Bond Company developed into its current multisite complex, offering a comprehensive range of serviced offices as well as a thriving events, weddings and conferences business. With significant potential for further development, the Directors have agreed a sale to Oval Real Estate Ltd which recently acquired The Custard Factory and Fazeley Studios.

The Bond Company Chair Tony Collier said:

“Although in many ways it is sad to move on after thirty years, the Directors recognise the huge changes that are now taking place in and around the Digbeth area with the advent of HS2 and the new Metro. It is the right time for new owners to take the business forward, especially given the investments they have already made in the area and the opportunities this affords for a new influx of ideas and development.”

Nick Prior, Founding Director of Oval Real Estate Limited, added

“The Bond Company is an exciting addition to our diverse estate, and will help us further enhance Digbeth as a thriving, creative community. We look forward to building on the hard work and successes of the last 30 years”
