Tutoring agency heading for the top with Birmingham launch
One of London’s leading tutoring agencies is heading to the Midlands with exciting plans to launch in Birmingham this September.
Top Tutors currently provides more than 5000 families and schools with tutors throughout London and the Home Counties and is now planning to roll out across Birmingham in September.
The independently owned agency, which was established 30 years ago, was taken over by Birmingham based charity UFA (University of the First Age) as an investment strategy in 2013.
The move to the region was a natural progression for Top Tutors, according to UFA CEO Linda Gregory.
“Top Tutors has a proven track record in delivering high quality tutoring through a handpicked and vetted team of high quality tutors in London,” she said.
“It’s a model we would like to replicate in Birmingham, particularly as the city is the home to our head office and a large number of our staff, so we have a great deal of local knowledge on the ground of what schools and families need.
Top Tutors will launch its tutoring service to families and schools in September, providing a weekend study centre with a maths and literacy focus at its Digbeth base and one to one private home tutoring for a range of ages.
The company will also offer support to schools who require tutors for one to one, group work or out of hours learning.
Top Tutors Business Manager Tracy Finnimore said recruiting had already started in preparation for the launch and there were still some opportunities for exceptional tutors in a range of subjects.
“We are looking for degree qualified tutors, across a range of subjects, to work on one to one and in groups with young people,” she said.
“Anyone interested can call us on 0121 766 1300 or apply online at www.ufa.org.uk/workwithus and we would of course be happy to hear from parents interested in tutoring for their children, who can also find out more at www.toptutors.co.uk.”
