UK Expansion for Global Manufacturer
A global manufacturer in metalworking technologies has expanded into the UK market by setting up a commercial facility at a Coventry business park.
AMOB UK, which provides one of the biggest ranges of specialised equipment for the tube and pipe bending industry worldwide, has become the latest tenant to move into the Pilot Trade Centre in the city.
Tom Wood, managing director for the British branch of AMOB, said:
“AMOB wanted to expand into the country and now seemed like the perfect opportunity for the company to break into the market. Not only will we be selling AMOB machinery, we will have a separate company in operation to sell other brands within the sector.
“The hope is that as the business becomes established and grows here and the plan is to create more jobs.
“Pilot Trade Centre seemed the perfect choice as it has direct links to a number of motorways and is still so close to Coventry city centre.”
AMOB was originally founded in 1960 by António Martins Oliveira Barros (AMOB). Hailing from Portugal, the company has commercial facilities in a range of countries including Spain and France and a worldwide network of more than 70 agents.
Its move to the park was facilitated by Bromwich Hardy.
David Penn, partner at Bromwich Hardy, added:
“AMOB is a global brand that is well-known and respected within the manufacturing sector so we are pleased that they have set up at the site.
“We are getting a lot of interest for the last unit that is available. The fact that many well-known organisations, such as AMOB, Screwfix and Autoglass, have taken space here, demonstrates the quality of the development and the location.”
